Testimonials

Pete Seaward has worked with the Hatfield Estate over the last 4 years on several different video projects. He is a delight to work with, he is self-sufficient and uses great judgement to achieve outstanding pieces of work. Pete grasps a brief quickly and is extremely flexible when it comes to filming to ensure the best moments are captured such as stunning sunrise ad sunset shots. He adapts quickly to changing weather which in our line of work is essential!

We hadn’t used film to promote the Estate before and Pete bought inspiration and ideas along to help us see what the potential could be. I would highly recommend him and we look forward to working again with him in the near future.

Chaser of the light, clever of sight, creator of magic. This is how I define Pete Seaward. With 'I-quit-my-job-to-become-a-travel-blogger' stories breeding a new frontline of viral digital imagery, it is easy to think anyone with an iPhone can take a good photo (and Apple's marketing campaigns on this theme only encourage such nonsense). The truth is, no piece of equipment in the wrong hands can produce quality images. Pete's unique talent with both still photography and video make him a master of evocative, timeless and authentic imagery. The kind of images that make you want to be in that exact place, now. His video for Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan won the award for Marketing Innovation among all Four Seasons' hotels worldwide. Relentless in chasing the light, Pete cannot rest if there is beauty to be captured on camera, whether working solo or with a crew. And on top of it all, he is a super nice guy, humble and a pleasure to work with. An amenable genius - quite a rarity!

Having worked with visual communication at the largest global home furnishing company for close to 20 years, I have worked with many photographers, but I can honestly say, I wish I had met Pete much, much sooner! He is the most skilled and professional photographer I have ever experienced. He not only captures the brief instantly, but adds his amazing eye and angle to it, creating a visual expression well beyond the original brief. Pete is more than a photographer - he is an artist and adds valuable commercial input and experience to any business, and the message wished to be conveyed. Additionally, he is an absolute pleasure to work with. Having recently taken on a new personal investment, I called on Pete to help me capture the rebranding of an exisiting boutique hotel in Ubud, Bali. Pete “totally got” the spirit and positioning of the hotel and shot both still and moving pictures. I am absolutely certain that his work assisted us in going from a 25% low season occupancy to well above 85% low season occupancy.

Pete is the consummate professional.

He totally understands the importance of preparation for a location shoot and the result is a huge level of productivity on shoot days.

Pete's breadth of experience helps to pull in the very best of all components into the images and you know he is seeing the shots in multiple layers, from the landscape, light, models, garment details, expression and overall energy of the final image, and he manages

to put these together in a way that is beautiful, unique and with huge impact.

The work we have done together has raised our images to a new level.

He is always great to work with and has a passion for what he does and an innate understanding of our brand values and how we want to project them.

I could not recommend him more highly.

“I think I totally underestimated how much patience goes in to taking photographs as spectacular as Pete’s.  Not only on location, but dealing with us agency folk and clients.  Pete’s patience shone through at every stage, from providing artistic and technical advice at the concept stage to making careful selects that fit our brief perfectly, as well as dealing with occasional unrealistic demands.  However, it was on the shoot that really impressed me – taking the time to get everything just right for that single, perfect, split-second, almost impossible opportunity.  Which he always got.  Thanks Pete.”

Neil Shanlin. Art Director. Dentsu London.

"Pete has a classicist's eye and a thoroughly modern, collaborative way of working, so it is unsurprising that his work continues to become more and more beautiful."

Mark Ringer. Executive Creative Director TBWA/TEQUILA Hong Kong

"I loved working with Pete. Before he shot our VW campaign I hadn't worked with him but he was everything I hoped and expected him to be – calm, assured, immensely knowledgeable and he did a brilliant job."

Sarah Thomson. Art Buyer DDB London.

"I have been privileged to work with Pete Seaward on several occasions for images to support new marketing campaigns for our award-winning resort. Pete did not just deliver what we required; he exceeded expectations through his professional approach, positive attitude and passion for his work. Aside from the set-up shots we asked of him, Pete's sharp eye and decades of experience enabled him to capture spontaneous frames that would elude any but the best photographers, and many of these became unexpected highlights of our campaign. Photography is more than just being able to operate a camera, and Pete Seaward is a photographer of the highest caliber, with a sensitive eye and emotional depth to his work. I would not hesitate to recommend him for tourism and landscape commissions."

Marian Hinchcliffe. Director of Public Relations and Marketing. Ayana Resort Bali.

"We are proud to be able to regularly commission Pete, who delivers a standard of beautiful, inspiring portraiture and landscape photography that has helped Lonely Planet Magazine become the UK’s best-selling travel magazine. He has been responsible for creating some of our most memorable cover shots and features shoots, and his skill, experience and energy have frequently come to bear in the most trying of circumstances, whether capturing the Glacier Express crossing a viaduct in the Swiss Alps, a boat paddling through mist behind the Taj Mahal, or a spectacular view of Australia’s Twelve (now actually eight) Apostles at first light."

Peter Grunert. Editor of Lonely Planet Magazine. BBC Publications.

"What's great about Pete is that he's always up for a challenge what ever the brief. From wading in the polluted waters of the Yamuna river in India to photograph the Taj Mahal, to scaling mountains in Switzerland to seek out the best landscapes. Pete makes a huge amount of effort to get the job done and delivers the most amazing pictures every time."

Hayley Ward Art Director Lonely Planet magazine.

Pete is an extremely patient and detailed photographer who prepares his shoots like engineers prepare an aircraft. He's a total pro who's making the most of his time to capture the best shots possible in the most efficient manner. He's also a real gentleman who appreciates life.

Thierry Halbroth. Executive Creative Director. McCann Erickson Hong Kong.

"What can I say about Pete Seaward that hasn't already been said? Having worked with him for almost 20 years, he has proved over and over again that he is a consummate professional who has an unerring passion for his love of photography and all things visual. Throw any layout at him and he will solve any problems quickly and efficiently, produce the highest quality image possible and almost more importantly in this day and age, stick to budget. An art buyer's dream. I would not hesitate to commission him over and over again should suitable jobs come up.
